Travis Thompson has been working in the oil industry since he was seven years old! He began helping his father Jeff of Jeff Thompson and Sons Oil Production at a young age tailing rods on a pulling unit. Travis has a passion to continue a family tradition as a third-generation Illinois oil operator. After Travis graduated high school, he attended college and graduated with a degree in business and geology. There was a short time when he thought he would be a teacher, but other factors moved him to continue and grow his experience within the oil industry.
In 2012, Travis while in college started his own oil business Travis Thompson Oil Corp. while also working collaboratively with his father. Starting TTOC provided more opportunities and having his name on his own business made him want to work harder to make it succeed. As of today, Travis has over 200 wells in 3 Illinois counties and 6 Indiana counties that produce crude oil that he owns and operates. He notes that having perseverance and taking opportunities when they present themselves is what he attributes to his success. Travis states that working hard and dedication makes his business triumphant.
Travis is a board of director for the Illinois Petroleum Resource Board, the Vice-President and soon to be president of the Indiana Oil and Gas Association, and a board of director for the Illinois Oil and Gas Association. This gives him a chance to educate and teach others about the oil industry. He visits many schools and serves on several committees to continue his passion through education. Travis is also community minded. He supports a variety of community organizations such as Aces baseball, Sharks the swim team, Wabash Valley Youth in Action, Wabash County 4-H, and WeeKare Preschool to name a few. He works and lives with his wife Natalie Thompson in this community and loves to share his support for his hometown.
